TRUBUILD AQUALOCK

Two Part Acrylic Cementitious Waterproof Coating

TRUBUILD AQUALOCK is two component acrylic-modified flexible cementitious waterproofing membrane coating particularly designed for Concrete and Masonry surface, which is supplied in ready-mix kits (two parts). When the powder part is mixed with acrylic-modified emulsion and applied. It will become flexible and seamless waterproof membrane and acts as an excellent water barrier to Concrete and Masonry Surface

Application
Applications
  • Concealed roofs, parking decks, bathroom, toilet, kitchen, balconies and planters
  • Swimming pools, water tanks and reservoirs
  • Concrete foundations, basements wall and lift pits
  • Any other concrete, cement or masonry surface subject to damage from moisture
Application
Advantages
  • Quick drying.
  • Easily applied by brush or trowel
  • Flexible
  • Excellent adhesion to concrete and masonry substrates.
  • Non-toxic substances
  • Environmentally friendly - free Volatile Organic Compound (VOC)
  • Can be applied on damp surface
  • Can exhibit Positive and negative water hydrostatic pressure 5 bar and 3 bar respectively
How to use
How to use

Surface Preparation

  • Allow new concrete and masonry substrate to fully cure prior application
  • All surfaces must be free from oil, grease, wax, dirt or any other form of foreign matter, which might affect adhesion. Spalled Concrete must be sound before applied
  • All the corners will be prepared by making “Coving” by using suitable polymer modified Mortar for providing continuation film of Waterproof coating
  • Substrate should be reaching a "Saturated Surface Dry" (SSD) condition (damp, without standing water)

Mixing

  • Using mechanical mixer, slowly add Powder part to Liquid part in a clean container until a smooth and homogenous slurry mixture is achieved
  • Allow the mixed slurry to stand for 5-10 minutes for releasing air-trapped during the mixing prior to application. Mixing material must be use within recommend pot life(40-45min)

Application

  • Slurry can be applied by brush or trowel. Do not dilute with water. recommended coverage rate is approximately 1.65-1.75kg/m2/2 coat (minimum two coat should be applied)
  • Allow the slurry to cure for at least 4-6 hour before applying a second coat

Curing

  • After application of 2nd coat, allow the system to air cure for 5 to 6 hours. This should be followed by moist curing by sprinkling /spraying of potable water for 24 hours. After moist curing, the surface should be allowed to air cure for 3 to 5 days before covering it with screed
  • Trubuild Aqualock requires at least 7 days curing before filling spas, swimming pools and water tanks with water as well as mock-up or ponding test

Precaution and Limitation

  • TRUBUILD Aqualock is not a decorative treatment and may display signs of “blooming” after rain or in damp weather. This does not affect the performance of the coating, in any way
  • Avoid application in direct sun and/or strong wind. Do not add water in any circumstances. Apply only to sound, prepared substrates and surfaces should be well dampened but free from surface water and leaks. Do not exceed maximum layer thickness
  • For waterproofing or damp proofing application, always use at least 2 coats to give a total DFT between 0.8 – 1 mm. In areas of severe water penetration, three coats might be required
  • Protect freshly applied material from freezing conditions, rains etc. Avoid application open to sky during intermittent rain
  • Aqualock does not provide a trafficable finish. In case the roof needs to be made trafficable a screed needs to be laid on the finished system. A bonding agent can be recommended (If required) for better bonding of screed
